How to Delete Pages from a PDF (Free, No Software)
A scan came out with a blank page in the middle, a contract has an appendix you don't want to send, or a report needs its cover removed before you forward it. You don't need to reopen the original document or install a PDF editor — you can drop the pages you don't want straight from the file.
The quickest way: the Split tool
Despite the name, Split doubles as a "remove pages" tool. It shows every page as a thumbnail, and you can cross out the ones you don't need. If you don't add any cut marks, everything that's left comes back as one single PDF.
Step-by-step guide
- Open the Split tool and drop in your PDF. Thumbnails of every page appear.
- Click the ✕ on any page you want to remove. It's marked as excluded; click the ↺ that replaces the ✕ if you change your mind.
- Don't add any cut marks between pages — those are for splitting the file into several separate PDFs.
- Click "Split & Download." You get one PDF containing only the pages you kept.
Another route: the Merge tool
The Merge tool works with a single file too. Drop in one PDF and you get the same page thumbnails with a ✕ on each, plus the ability to drag pages into a new order or rotate them. If you want to delete pages and reorder what's left in one go, this is the better choice.
Things to know
Deleting pages removes them from the new file only — your original stays untouched on your device. Page numbers printed on the pages themselves don't change, so if you remove page 3 of 10, the remaining pages still read 1, 2, 4, 5… If that matters, remove the old numbers' source first, or add fresh ones afterwards with the Page Numbers tool, which numbers the pages that remain.
Frequently asked questions
Can I delete several pages at once?
Yes — click the ✕ on as many pages as you like before downloading. They're all removed in one go.
Can I undo a deletion?
Until you download, yes: click the ↺ on a crossed-out page to bring it back. Once downloaded, your original file is still there, so you can always start again.
Will deleting pages reduce the file size?
Usually, yes — especially if the removed pages held large images. If you need it smaller still, run the result through the Compress tool.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — everything happens locally in your browser. Your PDF never reaches a server.
